How did the little girl from Queensland become the queen of Australian Tv? In this biography, we will go through the life and career of Georgie. Before going into details, let’s look at some quick facts:

Childhood

Georgie Tunny was born in 1991. Her parents are Terry Tunny and Camille Tunny.

She has one older sister Jacquiline Tunny.

Her father is Dr Terry Tunny, a retired scientist. While talking on a magazine interview, Georgie stated that her father grew up in a poor family of five children in north Queensland. His life became better when was able to go to college because of a scholarship opportunity. Because of his difficult childhood, he always encouraged his two children to focus on their education and build a good life for themselves.

Her childhood was full of love and support from her family.

Georgie likes to call herself a Daddy’s girl because she grew up very close to her dad. As a result, she inherited a lot of traits from him.

When she noticed her father watching sports, she took a keen interest, and later became a sports fanatic herself. Her father watched sports with her and answered all her curious questions. Georgie fondly remembers watching tennis, cricket, and the olympics on TV with her dad.

Unknown to her, this same bonding over sports would later transpire to fuel her career in sports journalism.

Beyond that, the Tunny family would love watching TV shows like Vampire Diaries and ER together.

Georgie went to an all girls catholic school where she was expected to do academically well by her parents. She missed the teenage fun of having boyfriends, and going to parties because of that.

Other than that, her school had a supportive environment as well. She remembers her english teacher telling her she has a ‘good voice’, and getting the students knowledge about movies.

Due to these influences, she later on chose to study Film and TV.
